I've been playing for about 2 weeks now, quietly reading here, and building my empire in the game. With 5000 moves done, and about 43 settlements, I think i've done pretty well for myself. But a lot of other newer players are having an extremely hard time. Here's my 2 cents:

-So you can't reset the game, cause all the vet players that put money into the game will stop playing.
-Some suggestions are great, but would require a drastic recoding of the game, which may sound like a good idea. But isn't ( just leaving as is)
-This whole joining settlement thing is kind of a good idea, but humans being humans, we don't want to join something especially in a game. We want to own it.
I think the easiest way to make the game more competetive for the attackers out there, old and new, would be to add 1 time super weapons into the game. You randomly find them in ruins or what not, make them an attack of 20, then everyone in the game old or new, is vulnerable to at least some sort of attack.
Then maybe, based on your attack level, dictate how many you can carry at one time. The higher your attack level, the fewer, blah blah blah.
ideas?

Ooooo, I like this.  The "superweapons" or whatever they would be called sound like a fun addition to the game.  They would be rare, but when found you could take any settlement or attack any homestead once.  I'll leave this thread at the top for discussion to see what everyone else thinks.

I love this idea.  It would be really cool to be able to attack some of the higher ups in the game.  I am a newbie in the game only been playing for a week or so and it does get frustrating at times to always be the week guy.  If this means we can attack and not only win settlements but cash that might be a step in the right direction to stop players from hording MD.  If there is a chance they can loose a good chunk of change to a super weapon they might just decide to spend them.

maybe you can have them not be found, but give them their own space on the map...make them extremely rare too...like, a certain amount in every region...

Then you can reset where they are after a week, so people will search far and wide for them, and if they find it early in the week, then they can be rewarded by being able to go back the next day and such

As long as they are fairly rare I think its an interesting addition. I know I get frustrating since all the settlements around me are 20 defense and the admin is raising prices to make it take longer for me to get 20 weapons Tongue

If you make an item that lets you use a lvl 20 attack, it wouldn't really work on settlements because someone can just take it from you if you are a weak player. Would probably be useful for attacking homesteads though.

This would work good in combination with being able to trade other people.
Then you could sell the weapon to other people for MD if you wanted to.

I was thinking of maybe having a shield item that works similar to the weapon but instead defense, but probably no one would attack you making the game all messed up.

I like the superweapon idea a lot. It could be found in ruins and be for limited use like 5 or 10 so we have to use strategy to use it OR it could be use until the reset so someone finding the superweapon would want to buy extra move to use longer.

A superdefense or shield would be great too, this could raise your defense to 20 for a few days, 5  at max.

And I agree they must a  rare item.

I disagree with the rare idea. If finding a weapon is rare then the results or changes in game play will be minimal. Not saying to have these all over the place, but definately something you might find at least once a week or something.
I also don't see new players having a huge problem with this either. Usually the new guy loses his settlement after a couple days anyway. The weapon would just shuffle ownership more. Think about it. Say the new guy takes a settlement from, oh maybe one of the foxes. Or any other 20 def, player in the game. What are the chances of another 20 def player grabbing that settlement again. If anything the super weapon idea will add a little more chaos to the gameplay.
Or we could have admin drop a couple 1000 in the game and watch the chaos ensue. That would be funny. who'd need a reset then right?

I like the idea.  I think finding one a week still qualifies as "rare" - that is one out of 1750 moves.

So how would it work?

You get a one-time chance to beat up on any player, right?   By increasing your weapons to 21 for that attack?  Also, could you save it and use it days or weeks after finding it?  I'd like to be able to save it to use it against a specific player.  I'll bet that players with activity logs might like to get in one good shot at someone who has taken a bunch of their settlements.   Tongue

Would it be too complicated to have a few varieties of super-weapons?  Like one gives you unbeatable (level 21) weapons, and another just gives you 5 or 10 levels above your current level...  I'm just thinking out loud here, not sure if it's a good idea or not.

Sounds good!
Get the mega-zapper, use it once and throw it away!
It sounds fair and certainly will be an incentive for both newbies and veterans actually!

Wow! Awesome idea. I definitely think its worth it. Like Endless said, I'll be using it on homesteads. There's a certain big gun nearby that I'm sure has loads of MD's. Attack and upgrade. I like that, sneaky as it may be.

Anybody notice how everyone gets bright ideas close to payout time? Or maybe they all come here only now. Nice ideas though.

How about adding a "Spy" feature to the supergun? Works like scout, but tells you the Homesteads MD balance. Each supergun could come with three  Level 21 "spies" (single use each) and one Level 21 attack.
