Volcano insurance and transportation

Eric,

I think I have seen these pop up around the site, but I wanted to put in a couple of formal suggestions:

1) Volcano insurance:  At the base of the volcano (when you land on the spot) is an insurance agent who will offer you volcano insurance.  You could have a flat price (say, 3 M$) or a random price, different at each volcano but totally unrelated to the chance of hitting an explosion (so as to avoid signaling where the explosions are).  The insurance reimburses you for any volcano losses and is good only at that volcano.

2) Transportation: This would help solve the problem of people who want additional moves, since it would allow them to move around the board faster.  Due to its value, I view transportation as a revenue generating opportunity for the site, i.e. you have to buy it with real dollars rather than M$.

Sorry I couldn't find who originally suggested these on the site, but they are both worth looking at.

Yeah, I remember seeing the volcano insurance suggestion somewhere, too...

I like the insurance idea, but I envisioned it as an upgrade that you purchase for, say, 50 or 100 MD per day.

That said, I still haven't been hit by a volcano explosion, and I mine a lot of volcanoes.

I will only charge 3 MD per week..haha

enough of the bs..I think this is a good idea for the players that want to save thier MD...I have yet to hit an erupting volcano (knock on wood) and I guess I won't feel the need unless I hit one..
