To be more specific,

Go to the Alliance page.  The link for that is on the main page of Exodus3000.  Once you are at the Alliance page, scroll down through the list and select an alliance you think you would like to join.  You can only join ONE alliance so pick wisely.   You will then need to wait to be accepted (in some cases) by the alliance leader.  I do believe you get an email confirmation once you have been accepted by an alliance.

Do you get a notification if they don't accept you? I don't mean ignore you, but specifically decline to let you in?

How long should you wait after trying to join an alliance before trying to join another one or starting your own?

happy it depends on what alliance your trying to join. I think if its one of the big ones they will get to you just be patient. if its one of the others well the leader might not be around anymore.

I put in a request to join one of the alliances about 4-5 days ago, and I haven't heard from them. How can I tell if they are active?
