Competitions

Something must be done to make competitions more practical, particularly the A competitions. I did not return within 12 hours of the competition, though it waited for players to join for months, and then I missed my chance. Really quite silly, I must say, and am disappointed that it has been set up this way. There needs to be a different setup for that. Should be given a couple of days to come upon the competition, but once one does, then the time limit kicks in.

I'm not sure exactly what your complaint is here.  Did you not get the email notification of the beginning of the competition?  And I don't think I'm understanding your proposed solution clearly.

I did not mention an e-mail, receipt or no receipt of an e-mail is irrelevant, here. It is impractical to have merely a 12-hour window from when the competition starts within which to participate. Not everybody can come on this website that often or, even if they can, they may be busy with a higher priority. Furthermore, I was signed up for that competition for months, and then it starts and I miss it by a few hours. It's quite a silly design, I must say. You have my money, though, so, as with many other aspects of this game, apathy reigns.

It's not apathy, it was a general question for clarification on your complaint.  I understand, now, that you have an issue with the duration, we can talk about that.

The 12 hour duration for the A competitions has long been considered equitable for the reward and the cost.  Your's is the first complaint about the duration that we have had.  I agree that given the general disinterest that has risen about the game from the player base means that people are not paying as much attention to it as they used to, an therefore it can be difficult to notice something that has been delayed for months suddenly becoming active.  It is an acknowledged potential issue with the way competitions work, and the reason an email is sent to all potential contestants to give them a reminder notice that the competition has started. 

I apologize that when that email was sent out, you did not have time to act on it over the next 12 hours.  However, I don't see one player's schedule as sufficient cause to readdress the entire competition system.  Honestly I have been giving serious thought to deactivating the competition system altogether for the near future.  As we all well know, there isn't a whole lot of activity in regards to it, so I wonder if anyone would even notice, so long as we refund any still pending players.
