Currently, we have one attack on a given settlement/homestead per cycle. There is nothing bad about this, just part of the rules. We are not really using a weapon in any meaningful way just the rule that we can't attack more than once. Another suggestion has been put forward in which would would have give us a finite, but meaningful weapon in the form of "bullets" of which we are given a certain amount at the start of a cycle, and likely we would be able to purchase and/or find more. It seems to me that using this finite number of "bullets," we should be able to attack a settlement as many times as we want until we take it. Each time we lose we still lose money, and lose another bullet which could have been used somewhere else. So if it's really necessary for you to take a particular settlement, you may attack until you get it, but realize that it might cost you dearly.

This totally goes against everything the game has been trying to fix as of late.

It would require less moves to be used to gain more setts, the game needs to thin out the excess moves not stock pile even more.
Everyone could use the hub forever and mars dollar accumulation would rise far above the already sky high amounts.

There are lots of ideas that would be cool or convenient for the player but we need to remember the game needs to make money in order to keep going. This one would kill it fast.

I don't know, it just seems like if we are going to add bullets, something we have to use, but not something we can use again and again, just doesn't make sense.

How does requiring a minimal MD cost per attack in an effort to reduce inflation not make sense?  Functionally that is what the bullets are.

I'm not totally against the idea. I have a question though: Do we get multiple attacks on setts only, or homsteads and setts?

For it to be logically consistent it would have to be everything you can attack.

If thats the case I think this might be bad. Players, or alliances with the location of a wealthy matian could just blast away entire savings. True it would cost plenty of md (ammo wise) but if the homestead is paying well they could make good profit or at least  could break even. I forsee alot of bad blood and frustration if this was the case.

Setts on the other hand have no real value at this time other than bragging rights really, so I think this idea might work in their case.

However do we think there will be a shortage of things to shoot at? Perhpas since we are in the future on mars we only get 1 shot per day, because if that shot fails, the target can recalibrate their sheild defence making our weapons ueless until the next cycle... or something  Tongue

I love sci fi...built in excuse for everything.
