I agree with QS that there should be a predefined limit for the number of items that can be sold at a store. I honestly think this is the best solution.

I vote against the theft idea for reasons already mentioned in this thread.

I also do not agree with the store + storage limit = storage limit. This would give me hardly any advantage of being a store owner. I agree that I can still sell those minerals in the store, but I can do it at the settlements as well and that would give me my MDs faster instead of just taking up space at my store and just hoping that someone would step into my store and buy them.

But this are just my thoughts....

There still is a slight flaw in this idea, such as:

additional 500,000 MD's gives you additional 50 store storage units up to a maximum of 250 units.

I don't know if I thought of it or not, but I think I take advantage of it way more than anyone else.

for some reason I didn't view this as cheating, I'm sorry.

please take all my minerals from my store, and if you have to ban me then so be it.

I have about 10 of the same thing for sale at my store too,
I just realized why  Prices at some stores, are so High. LOL

But then I did just only recently purchase a Store.
There's all that inventory, buying prices vs selling prices, Wait I think I was supposed to make a Profit in there some where, lol Cheesy

The store stat is a good idea, but make sure to leave room for some creative sales that people might come up with.

A store storage stat is definitely a good idea, but on the second thought, if you are winning something as a result of a mission, I feel that the reward should be the same for everyone....., but yes a person can take it to further levels.....

Another solution that I can think of is that let the store as it is presently and charge a fee if the player removes the item from the store. Meaning, you can add an item to the store, but have to pay the fee if you just want to remove it from your store, the fee being a % of the price you are deciding for the item. This will control misuse and elevated pricing. Or you can do a combination of a preset store limit + the fee. Just my thoughts....

But store owners who don't even sell minerals add and remove items all of the time...

Yes, but this will help to put a fair price for everything in the store and we will not see ridiculously elevated prices in the stores.

Yeah, I don't think the idea of charging store owners for removing items from their stores would work.  People just wouldn't list stuff there.

At this point I'm leaning more towards adding a Store Storage stat, although I don't like that name.  Maybe Capacity?

Yeah, the "Store Capacity" idea sounds great, as well as the name.
Other possible names:
Store Size
Store Space
or Store Room - get it? like Storeroom lol :]
