With the possibility of an expanding playing field I was pondering a nifty upgrade.  I realize the subscribed players are able to remain away from base for days on end and explore the far reaches of the board...why not make this available for the non subscribed?

Possible link on the upgrades at Outposts for a "Survival Pack"  which allows you to stay away from your homestead for a given period of time say 2-4 resets or whatever seems reasonable.  Say for 3000MD you get a Survival Pack that lasts 3resets allowing you to explore for that time away from base.  If you want to extend it you can do so for 1500MD at an Outpost for one more reset.  Once the Pack runs out of "supplies" or you have resupplied it twice, you go back to your homestead at the next reset.

This would definitely help the newbs and those not wanting to pay to play all the time...or those who can't pay to play.

Ooh, I too like this idea. I found in my expeditions that the only people I run into outside of the "<200" coordinates are paid members with massive defenses. Although 1500 MD/day seems a little steep. maybe more like 500 MD/day?

The numbers could be lower (I hope much lower).  It'd be up to admin to discern the value of this upgrade and its affect on subscriptions and revenue since it is essentially available free.  Possibly 1500 for 3 resets and 750 per resupply.
(on 250 free moves if I go after loot only and no eexplorin I can net about 2800 per day with the radar upgrade)

I like this idea too.  I'll wait for some more feedback before it's added.

I think it's a great idea as well. I hate starting at homebase everytime. I think having an upgrade added that would allow us to stay for a certain period of time would definately be worth paying MD for.

This would definately make the game a little more interesting being able ot explore different areas of the map, with only the 250 moves the same old scenery gets boring after a while    It would also give players a little more chance of possibly acquiring a few settlements.  most in my area are all owned by the same 4 - 5 players with no possibilty of getting any of those.

I LOVE this idea!!!  Especially with the map expansion.  As for how much MD it should cost...

I guess that should depend on the average amount of MD a player picks up in a day with Radar 1 upgrade.  So, new players would have to work up to or buy the first upgrade.  So, what, 2500MD?  That way it would take a days work to be able to stay out in the map for another 3 days.

Cool idea!

Yeah, I was trying to keep it around that.  Iknow without my radar upgrade I was only at about 1500md/day

Cool idea.  It would definitely open up more of the game board for non-paying players.

Does anyone have any objections to this?  I am seriously thinking about implementing it, but I want to be absolutely sure it's a good idea that will benefit the game.

I like the idea admin...and I am a top player. As you have seen in some of my other threads you really need to do something to level the playing field a little bit so that you don't find yourself in the exact same perdicament you were in a week ago (a few players locking up 80% of the settlements). Under the current conditions by the end of the month we will have the exact same situation only with a larger map.

I had suggested when you added the new territories that you create some type of system to allow newbies to get some type of foothold and build up some strength before veterans could swarm in and take all the settlements (newbie homesteads would be in the new territories with some type of gateway between the outer new territories and the central 4 that would make it a little challenging for veterans to gain access to the outer map). As it stands now the vets are sweeping up hundreds of settlements per day and the newbies are strugglng to even reach the outer territories.

So at minimum I think this is a good idea and should be implemented as soon as possible before we are once again in a situation where there are very few available settlements not held by maxed out veterans.

I really like this idea, the only downside I can think of is that premium members don't have as much an advantage, which is minor.

Also about the cost of the survival pack. Is maybe possible to have a certian price based on settlements you own(maybe MD and upgrades too) too so that new players will be able to afford this too.

Making it more expensive for people who already have tons of settlements will give other people a chance at getting settlements too, not just the ones who have high level stats.
