I am leaving this discussion to Avs and Anthraxus, as I do not deal with the goings-on of competitions and they are more knowledgeable about the workings and ins and outs of them.
I will say this--Taco, if you had any issue about a player, it should have been taken up with an admin in private, not brought out in public. Pabcheka has done nothing wrong and their player status is intact.
I will ask that this thread please stay on-topic from this point on. Thanks.
I note that I don't have issue with anyone personally - it was the way the competitions were structured. Unfortunately, robertx was simply the most recent one to point out. If it were someone else in that last competition I would have substituted their name in that place.
As for the 'announcement' of a player name - it was hardly a secret. Since she never comes into chat I hadn't seen her to ask, so I simply asked a question - not poked or prodded anything. Jumping to a conclusion that I meant something evil is pretty uncalled for. Besides, when she first changed over to that name long ago I had numerous (more than 5 for sure) people messaging me with that information. Just because it is not all over the message board doesn't mean I am privy to information that others don't have. Anyone that was playing back then knows who it is, and it doesn't matter to anyone that was not playing back then.
Robert - I am not envious of a $50 competition win. I got 2nd - no worries for me. But as someone else had brought up previously before the rules were clarified... the competitions page said that you played in a competition that included 6 different players. That is hardly the same as a competition that includes 3 different players, and one of the players getting 3 entries based on one set of moves.
If it never crossed anyone's minds before then maybe I can help - what if someone were to start a $50 competition but also have gained some inside knowledge on how the map is laid out or something like that. Everyone else (like me, robert, etc.) that simply just plays then has no chance at the top two or 3 spots.
And for anyone that did play that only $50 competition to kick off, they would know that the map was not new. When I started out that competition I found settlements that were already owned by others (me and robert specifically) from a long previous date. It was not a new random map, it was a map that had never been cleared.
There were issues with competitions and those have been addressed. I am all good with the topic, and I have nothing more to say about them. As for my thoughts about anyone personally - nothing I stated about the way they played or how the entries were structured mean that I feel any malice towards an individual. If I were trying to bash someone I would have been harsh on a personal level, not about the game.
Lastly Robert - if you want to give another go at a $50 competition then let's have at it. I just don't want cash tied up for 6 months waiting for entries. Let's find 6 entries (I'll only enter once personally) and give it a go. It took forever for the $10 competition to kick off - I am doubtful that a $50 would happen soon without coordination.
