I noticed that the only type of advertisments on the site were google adsense. I was thinking if we start using other kind of adverts like banner impressions, people paying a nice CPM these banners cud be around the game area at different places i dont think relying on google alone brings in good revenue and thats why the amount of mars dollars / USD is increasing. maybe also add a ptc section where players are paid in moves/MD for clicking on links by OTHER advertisers. Like if someone buys 1k unique clicks to their ptp page, the ad will be displayed in the ptc section and users wil get a specified number of MD or moves for clicking. some serious non-ptp advertisers might pay good for 1k or something visits to their site which wud reward more md/moves This way the site's profit will increase and so will the value of mars dollars. We cud also ad more ads to the forum
edit : How bout a pixel area around the bottom of the game You know, those pixel ads One nice thick strip of empty pixels for sale or maybe for rent. That way it wont be a one time payment, it wil be cheap for advertisers and will keep on bringing in cash.
Maybe even get the forum Sign-Profit approved. That way members will be more active on forums as well Giving more impressions to the ads and ultimately more clicks.
And many people dont join the site coz they fear spam and scam. We cud get Exodus approved by one of those GPT program approval things. A nice trophy kind of thing showing that people actually win and get paid wins a lot of trust.

Google AdSense does bring in quite a bit of revenue. He also uses what is called adbrite, it looks almost identical to Google AdSense.
I would buy a pixel ad hands down. People click on those things.

What's a pixel ad? something like http://www.milliondollarhomepage.com/but only a small size for the site and rent them out at a low price instead of 'selling' at $1 each the guy became a millionaire from selling 1 million pixels $1 each we shud use a small one like at the top of http://www.free-advertising-blog.com/and at the left side bottom of http://www.jillsclickcorner.com/hundreds of site have copied that the people pay a price per pixel and theres a minimum they must buy ( maybe a 10 X 10 block minimum for this site ) and i wud like to suggest another thing we cud even sell small link boxes a 1 column table at the right site of the game wud do there people will pay a price per week the layout i m saying will be something like

It is basicly a tiney ad that you can buy a certain number of pixels (usualy 10px X 10px blocks) and put anything you want there and link it to anywhere.
All you would have to do is make a table and update the pics and links etc. Most pixel ads are forever things but you could do it monthly, weekly etc.

actually there is alot of space around the game. i mean when u press : enter game, it comes as half a screen not full.. so if it was full screen, it will give alottt of free space to put ads onnnn

Another great idea is the intermission ad if used responsibly. An option is to use this at the game entry point only. So players see it only once per day and delays the game entry by just a few seconds. Adbrite etc pay about 1 cent per ad shown someone told me. Make it 5000 players per day... and 50$ per day. Great source of income!

Great source of income! i think they have that over on wealth wars and i hated it. one of the main reasons i decided to just quit playing there altogether. if this place becomes "ad saturated" i'll probably quit, too, though i do understand the reasoning for it.

Adbrite pays per click on their text ads and apparently per impression on their intermission ad.
By the way, will having just a single intermission ad only when you enter the game, once per day really turn you away form the game? If it does, then scrap my suggestion. I understand the nuisance

Bidvertiser does not pay for impressions, only for clicks.
Awarding people for clicks does make sense as long as the ad program allows it. Most of the well known programs don't though. Its against their TOS to do so.
But there are others out there that will pay for unique hits to their page. Maybe the clicks could be rewarded with things that dont cost the game directly, like a home base transfer or a temporary look at the top 1000 player or something along those lines. Basically alternate/higher paying sources are worth a second look.
