No really.. we are on a bug hunt!  My daughter, Alyssa, is in 4-H and does entomology as 1 of her projects. She LOVES BUGS!

We are looking to see if anyone would be willing to send her strange and unusual bugs...  things like stag beetles, rhinoceros beetles, giant crickets, dung beetles, antlions, ambush bugs, locusts, scarabs... the insects that are hard to find and as I tell her, impossible to collect from here Tongue

We live in New Hampshire so we have most of the common native insects from this area.  So most likely, anything that you could collect, would be something strange for us here!

If you are willing to help us add to our insect collection for this 4-H project, let me know or send me a pm.  I am willing to pay for shipping etc, to get them here.

All you would need to do is collect the bug and place in a small container (like a pill bottle or other small container that closes tightly) with a little bit of rubbing alcohol.  (the alcohol kills the insects and keeps them preserved for mounting in her collection box)

Thanks for reading and hope someone is willing to touch bugs to help us out!  Cheesy

Edited to add: Spiders are NOT insects

Oh man, I wish I had noticed this post sooner Karen. Just the other day I found a gigantic rhinoceros beetle, oh man it was longer than my index finger. Hubby was so amazed by it that he had to take it to work with him and show it off, lol. Let me know if y'all still need bugs, we have all kinda weird stuff down here.
