Making it hard on the new guys ...

... I just joined two days ago, in that time, i have a security of 3, a defence of 1, which i am trying to raise. So far i have been attacked 7 times, and lost as of this moment 149 MD's, by morning, when i get my next allottment of moves, i'll be broke or in the negative. ... before you start ragging on me about not being able to take the heat, know, i have been a gamer for longer than some of you have been alive, and yeah, we teach the newbies a hard lesson, and they wise up fast, but we don't try to take them down; i have read boasts here on the forum, of how players would repeatedly attack new single homesteads. While it might seem like fun, and hilarious, it puts a bad taste in the mouth of the newbie. While i have been out exploring, i'd come across new homesteads, and would leave a message, saying hello, i came in peace and left in peace. Those that returned my messages, are as green as i am about this game, i'm trying to condense the survival manual for them, hoping they don't get taken down at the knees like some appear to be doing to me ... long story short, if you have the intelligence to know our setup, its a pretty good indication that the player is a newbie, and is just getting started. Once a player has levels 5 and 6 for their defence and security, its a good indication that you are dealing with a player who has gotten some time under their belt. This also does not entice me to want to join in any alliance. Yeah, i know survival of the fittest and all that ... :? [/list]

... no dear, its more fun to strike fear into their hearts, let them know they have been given a play, and watch how they scurry to build up their defences ...

I understand the feeling, I know it's tough at first. But the truth is, it doesn't take long at all to raise your stats if you work at it. Now, as far as people bragging about attacking new homesteads, those people are actually bragging about hitting what we call "hoarders", and those are people that choose not to upgrade their stats and just go for cashout. Those people are hit a lot on a daily basis because they supply a lot of md's for the people that actually play the game. I know right now 149 md's seems like a lot, but it really isn't. And I never hit a homestead twice in a row, and other people shouldn't either, but they do. Just rise above it, raise your stats a couple levels, and you'll find less and less people will be attacking you so much. Don't worry about your security right now, worry about your defense. That is the most important thing at first. The people who are attacking you so much are probably also newbies who can't hit the bigger players.
And as far as alliances go, I wouldn't join an alliance in the other games I've played. But, I have to say, I love the alliance I joined in this game. We are not out to get the newbies.
I hope this helps!

I guess my homestead is in a good location, because I was rarely hit as a newbie.

I'm not advertising my alliance, I'm not asking anyone to join it, and I'm not talking crap about any other alliance either. She can join whatever alliance she wants, if she decides to join one. I was just giving her a little advice. I am not a person who makes a habit out of treating other people like crap when they voice a concern about the game. I want to help them, a lot of people helped me, and I'm sure a lot of people helped you when you first started.
BTW, if we couldn't take the heat, we wouldn't be in the number one position now would we?
Geez, a little bitter, aren't you?

Huh? I'm confused... What are we talking about again?
Well I was talking about: NPA: Noobie Protection Agency Allliance
You know... the alliance with 13 members and 0 settlements. In fact, I didn't even read your earlier post until just now. And I believe your last line to be a tad hypocritical
